SMWC Wolfpack has been a sanctioned wrestling club since 1988, started by Bruce Gabrielson, to offer wrestling opportunities to the youth of Southern Maryland area. Today, SMWC is run and coached by Bruce's son, Jason Gabrielson and his family. Our club offers high-level coaching to develop children ages 5 through high school, not only in the knowledge of the sport, but also in the many life skills that are taught through this invaluable sport. We teach the values of hard work, dedication, perseverance and commitment in order to continuously improve. We set goals and push ourselves and one another to reach them! We have helped to produce many junior league, high school and college champions and all- Americans.
More importantly, we have been a part of the lives of many incredible children who have gone on to reach dreams in all aspects of their lives, become successful adults and remain a part of our big PACK FAMILY!
ANY boy or girl, ages 5 and up, who is interested in the sport of wrestling, and wants to become the best that they can be. Wrestlers must be able to pay attention and follow directions. Be ready to join not only a team, but a FAMILY!
We are high intensity and expect our athletes to be disciplined and ready to give their best at all times! We compete in the Capital Area Wrestling League, which caters to wrestlers ages 4- 15, and provides wrestlers opportunities to compete at levels that best meet their needs, including novice, intermediate and advanced. Our CAWL season tournaments begin in December with the PRE- CAWL Holiday Bash. We will then have CAWL tournaments on Saturdays or Sundays throughout January to March. The WOLFPACK also enters other tournaments outside of the CAWL league, but these are on an optional basis for each wrestler. We compete in tournaments at local, regional, state and national levels, so we have the competition for wrestlers of all levels! We will continue clinics and round robin tournaments for NOVICE wrestlers and more at THE DEN. Our goal is to help each of our wrestlers move to the next level and continue improving.
On November 9, 2021 we tragically lost 2 of our PACK family members. These men, Rawle and Ryan, mentored young wrestlers and were a part of our PACK family. PLEASE consider donating to help provide the memorial services they deserve and to take care of their children.
Help the PACK by becoming a sponsor for one of our tournament fees! We can provide W-9 form for your donations! Your company logo will also be included on our DUAL TEAM T-shirts!
